What We Believe About...
The Bible The Bible, consisting of both the Old and New testaments, is verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is inerrant
in the original manuscripts and infallible. As the authoritative Word of God it is our only rule of faith and practice.
John 6:63; 17:8; I Cor. 2:13; II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:21
The Triune God The one triune God, creator
of all things, exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (The Holy Trinity.)
Gen. 1:1; Deut. 6:4; Matt. 3:16, 17; 28:19
The Fall of Man into Sin Adam, created in the image of God, was tempted by Satan and fell. Because of Adam's sin all mankind have imputed
guilt, are totally depraved, and need to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit for salvation. Gen. 3:6-8; Rom. 5:12; I Cor.
15:21,22
Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is God, born
of a virgin, who shed His blood as mankind's substitutionary sacrifice. He rose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven,
where He is now at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us as our High Priest and Advocate. Luke
1:31, 35; John 1:1, 14; Acts 1:9; I Cor. 15:3, 4; Eph. 1:19, 20; Heb. 2:14; 4:15; 7:25, 26; I Pet. 1:18,19
The Resurrection The
saved will be raised to everlasting life and blessedness in heaven, and the unsaved will be raised to everlasting conscious
punishment in the lake of fire. Ps. 16:11; Dan. 12:2; Matt. 25:31-34; Rom. 6:23; I Cor. 2:9; 15-42,43; I Thess. 4:16,
17; Rev. 20:11-15
Baptism and Communion Water baptism and the
Lord's Supper are to be observed by the church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as a means
of salvation. Matt. 26:26, 27; Acts 2:38, 39, 41; I Cor. 10:16; 11:23-26; Gal. 3:17, 18, 22-29

We hold to the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. Apostles' Creed I
believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, Who
was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and
was buried; he descended into hell. The
third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the
holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and
the life everlasting. Amen. Although not written by the apostles, the Apostles' Creed is
a concise summary of their teachings. It originated as a baptismal confession, probably in the second
century, and developed into its present form by the sixth or seventh century. (Trinity Hymnal pg. 845)
Salvation The
perfect life of Jesus Christ, his shed blood, and his resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation
for all who believe. Salvation consists of the remission of sins, the imputation of Christ's righteousness, and the gift of
eternal life received by faith alone, apart from works. Those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus
become children of God. John 1:12, 13; 3:5, 6; Acts 4:12; 10:43; Rom. 3:20-26; 4:17; 5:1; 5:12-21; 10:9,10,
13; I Cor. 1:9; Gal. 2:16; Eph. 1:17; 2:8,9; Phil. 2:5-11; I Tim. 2:5; Titus 3:5, 6; I Pet. 5:10
The Return of Christ The return of Jesus Christ
is imminent and will be visible and personal. Matt. 24:27-31; Acts 1:11; Rev. 1:7; 19:11-16
The Church The
universal church, the body of Christ, consists only of those who are born again, who are baptized by the Holy Spirit into
Christ at the time of regeneration, for whom Christ now makes intercession in heaven and for whom He will come again. John
3:3-5; Rom. 12:3-5; I Cor. 12:13; II Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:13-20; 3:6; 4:11-16; 5:30; Phil. 3:20; Col 3:1-4
Missions and Evangelism Christ commanded the
church to go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone, baptizing and teaching those who believe. Matt. 28:16-20;
Acts 1:8
